Laguna Beach, California
A tennis academy in Laguna Beach, built around how the game is actually learned.
LBTA coaches juniors and adults on public courts in Laguna Beach — movement first, small groups, and a coach who knows every player. Start with a free placement session.
What it looks like
- Movement-first coaching — footwork and balance before stroke mechanics
- Small groups, so every player is seen
- Juniors from age three through college-track, plus adult classes and match play
- On the coast — about forty minutes from most of Orange County
The method
We coach movement first — footwork and balance before stroke mechanics — because a shot is only as good as the position that made it.
Questions, answered.
- Where does LBTA train?
- On public courts in Laguna Beach — including Alta Laguna Park and Laguna Beach High School. It's about a forty-minute drive from most of Orange County.
- Do you coach adults, or only juniors?
- Both. LBTA runs junior programs from age three through college-track training, plus adult classes, cardio, LiveBall, and match play.
- How big are the groups?
- Small groups — that is the promise, and it does not change with how busy we are. When a group is full we open another, on another court. Group size varies by class; the top Academy group is the smallest.
- How do I start?
- Book a free thirty-minute placement session — open to anyone, resident or not. A coach will get your player on court and tell you which class fits. Laguna Beach families can take a full class free instead; it is one or the other.
